Ideas Worth Talking About

Explore subjects that connect language with the world around us.

Architecture, science, literature, cities, technology, culture and current issues can all become starting points for conversation.

The World Is the Topic

Estructura y Palabra is not organized around a traditional language syllabus. Instead, we begin with subjects that give people something meaningful to think about and discuss.

Each article offers information, ideas, images or questions. You can simply read and explore—or use the material as preparation for a live bilingual conversation.

The topic is the starting point. The conversation is where it goes.

TALK Take the idea into conversation.

Every Topic Can Become a Conversation

A good conversation does not require everyone to have the same opinion.

It can begin with a question:

What do you think?

What do you agree with?
What would you change?
What is your own experience?
What questions does the topic raise for you?

Different perspectives make the conversation richer.

English and Spanish

The topics are not limited to one language.

You can explore the ideas in English, Spanish, or both. The objective is to use language to communicate—not to turn communication into a grammar exercise.

Two languages. Many perspectives. One conversation.

Want to Take the Conversation Further?

The articles provide the material. A live Teams session provides the space to discuss it with another person.

Sessions are intentionally small, with a maximum of two participants and a moderator.
