A suspicious message often works because it creates an emotional reaction: fear, urgency, curiosity or confidence.

Un mensaje sospechoso muchas veces funciona porque provoca una reacción emocional: miedo, urgencia, curiosidad o confianza.

1 · STOP

Don't react immediately.

No reacciones inmediatamente.

2 · CHECK

Look carefully at the sender, the message and the link.

Revisa cuidadosamente al remitente, el mensaje y el enlace.

3 · VERIFY

Use an independent, official channel.

Utiliza un canal oficial e independiente.

Luis and the strange message

Luis receives a message that appears to come from his internet provider. It asks him to click a link and confirm his password.

Luis notices several warning signs:

• an unusual sender address
• pressure to act immediately
• a request for his password
• a suspicious link

Luis does not click the link. Instead, he opens the company's website independently and checks his account there.
