Conversación Real en Español e Inglés

Welcome to Estructura y Palabra

El mundo es el tema.
La conversación es el método.
El inglés y el español son los puentes.

Welcome · Bienvenido

Estructura y Palabra is a bilingual space for people who want to use English and Spanish to talk about the world.

Here, language is connected to ideas. Architecture, science, literature, art, cities, technology, communication and current issues become opportunities to read, think, speak and connect.

You do not come here simply to study a language. You come here to use language to explore ideas, share experiences and connect with other people.

Why English and Spanish?

Because real communication does not always happen in only one language.

English and Spanish can coexist naturally in the same conversation. A participant may express an idea in English, clarify something in Spanish, respond in English, or move between both languages when that helps communication.

The two languages are not competing with each other. They are tools that allow people to understand, express and connect.

English and Spanish are not the destination.
They are the bridges.

What Will You Find Here?

Ideas

Articles, images and reflections about subjects that invite curiosity, questions and different points of view.

Topics

A growing collection of subjects connected with architecture, science, literature, culture, cities, technology and communication.

Conversation

Questions and perspectives that can turn reading into meaningful interaction between people.

Live Sessions

Small online conversations through Microsoft Teams, guided by a moderator.

How Does It Work?

The project follows a simple movement from an idea to a conversation.

READ Encounter an idea, image, story or article.
THINK Develop your own questions and perspective.
SPEAK Use English and Spanish to express your ideas.
CONNECT Listen, respond and exchange perspectives.

Explore the World Through Topics

There is no single subject for conversation. The world itself provides the material.

From Reading to Conversation

The articles on this site are not only meant to be read. They can also become starting points for conversation.

A question about a city can lead to a discussion about urban life. A story can lead to literature and memory. A technological development can lead to questions about society. An architectural project can lead to a conversation about how we live.

In this way, the blog and the live sessions are connected. The content provides the starting point; the conversation gives it another dimension.

ARTICLE → IDEA → QUESTION → CONVERSATION → CONNECTION

You Don't Have to Be an Expert

You do not need to know everything about a topic before discussing it.

A conversation becomes interesting when people bring different experiences, questions and points of view.

You can participate because you are an architect, teacher, student, professional, reader, traveler, curious person—or simply because something interests you.

What matters is not having all the answers. What matters is having something to say and being willing to listen.

Not Just Another Language Class

Estructura y Palabra does not begin with the question: “What grammar point should we study today?”

It begins with a different question:

What is worth talking about?

Once there is something worth discussing, language becomes a means of expressing ideas, asking questions, agreeing, disagreeing, explaining and connecting.

No necesitas hablar sobre el inglés.
Necesitas tener algo que decir.

You do not need to talk about English.
You need something to say.

That is the idea behind Estructura y Palabra.
